After three successful years in Groznjan, Croatia, the 2009 International Vocal Arts Workshop & Retreat will take place in Shrub Oak, NY, a beautiful rural setting 50 miles north of New York City. This four-day informal performing arts Workshop & Retreat will be led by director Jane McMahan and returning faculty Kamini Dandapani.

This Workshop & Retreat centers on participants' interests and expertise. Participants should arrive with a few prepared songs for coaching with Jane and the rehearsal pianist, and are encouraged to share their expertise through leading workshops. Workshops planned to-date are listed below.

The Shrub Oak is also the ideal location for summer relaxation and fun. Activities include swimming and kayaking, soccer and frisbee, nature walks and hikes, and, above all, enjoying each other's company over communal meals and at the fireside. Accommodations are provided at the McMahan House or with host families.

The estimated cost of the Workshop & Retreat is $220, which covers workshops, materials, food, accommodations and local travel. Enrollment is limited.
